Cause

Who We Are

Welcome to Happy’s Place, a 100% volunteer-run, not-for-profit senior dog rescue. We provide a loving, home-based environment for senior dogs—many of whom face a high risk of euthanasia due to age, medical needs, or other circumstances.

Most of our dogs come from shelters, but we also accept owner surrenders in cases where guardians can no longer care for their pets due to health issues, life changes, or loss. Our mission is to offer these dogs a second chance at life—whether through adoption into loving homes or by providing lifelong care in our network of carefully screened foster homes.

On July 23, 2019 Happy's Place became an official Ontario registered not-for-profit organization. Corporation #: 5016808 & non-profit #: 779331073RC001

What We Believe In

Every dog we take in receives veterinary care, emotional support, and—most importantly—unconditional love. We believe in creating joyful, meaningful experiences for our dogs, including bucket list adventures and community engagement. Our programs also aim to keep senior dogs and their families together whenever possible, through creative, compassionate solutions.

At Happy’s Place, we believe in the healing power of relationships—between people and dogs, and within our community. Through public events, partnerships with local businesses, and initiatives like our Senior to Senior, Leave a Legacy, and Wellness Visits programs, we strive to build a world where every senior dog can truly “find their happy.”

The impact of Your Support

$50 will cover preventative medication
$500 enables spay or neuter
$1,000 could provide a dental
$5,000 could provide life saving specialized surgery
$10,000 enables us to continue to say yes to many more senior dogs
